My time in Itajaí, Santa Catarina 🏠
I lived in Itajaí for a few years, and I can say with complete confidence that it was a wonderful choice. The city has great infrastructure and a welcoming energy that made a lasting impression on me.
I first lived in the Fazenda neighborhood, very close to Bistek supermarket. It was a great location: peaceful, with everything nearby—markets, shops, and even a bus terminal. Later, I moved to São Vicente and, finally, Cidade Nova.
All of these neighborhoods have their own charm, but Cidade Nova went through a difficult time in 2023: a major flood. The water reached the corner of my street on my birthday, and our plans to celebrate at Beth Bistro went down the drain—literally! 😅
We ordered a pizza, but the delivery driver could not get through. We went out to meet him in the rain, with our feet soaked. Even so, it became an unforgettable night, because that was when I got engaged! A different kind of celebration, full of love, with a pizza as our witness!
Over the years, I discovered wonderful places that became part of my routine and some of my favorite memories there. Now I want to share a few of my favorite spots in Itajaí—the ones that warm both the heart and the appetite.
Pizza Premium
If you love pizza, Pizza Premium is a must! The pizzas are generously topped, with delicious, freshly baked dough. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is cozy, and best of all, the prices are affordable. The pizza comes out quickly, and it is the kind you want to order again and again!
Itajaí Shopping
If you love shopping and a good meal, this mall is the place for you! It has a variety of stores and a great food court, with everything from Japanese food to quick bites. There is also an amazing lookout with a view of the city’s ports. And if you want to relax with a draft beer, there is a cold Heineken waiting for you!
Xis Querência do Sul
Looking for a delicious sandwich with a taste of Rio Grande do Sul? Xis Querência do Sul will win you over! The menu features food typical of the state, including the unmistakable flavor of the best xis sandwiches in southern Brazil.
To go with it, nothing beats a cold Polar, a local favorite beer. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, making every bite burst with flavor. The welcoming atmosphere is perfect for a meal with friends and family.
Lanchonete Garoto
One thing that always brings me back to Itajaí is Lanchonete Garoto, especially its wonderful coxinhas! It is a simple place with excellent service, and the savory snacks are always fresh, crisp, and delicious. Whether you want a quick bite or need to satisfy a bigger appetite, this place never disappoints!
Espetinho Casa Grande
If you love grilled meat skewers, Espetinho Casa Grande is the place to satisfy that craving! They offer a variety of meats and sides that make a wonderful combination of flavors and aromas. To top it all off, there are irresistible desserts and even ice cream!
One tip: if you order the rib skewer, you may want to ask about the cut first. The last time I ordered it, I ended up with more fat than meat, which gave us a good laugh—but did not make for a great meal. 😂
Beth Bistro e Restaurante
And how could I leave out Beth Bistro? This place is very special to me because it is where I had my first date with the man who is now my husband. I remember that day as if it were yesterday! The food is wonderful too—the shrimp and hearts-of-palm risotto and codfish fritters are simply fantastic. The rustic, welcoming atmosphere made the moment even more unforgettable!
